Large Islamic Mamluk
Revival hanging Mosque Lamp, Ottoman Empire, Damascus, Syria late 19th
Century. Dome shaped upper part with flared top openning, lower part
with 8 oil-lamp opennings around a graduated vase shaped
bottom ending with a cast finial, all suspended by 3 handmade chains
decorated with ornements and brass balls. Superb quality of
craftsmanship, all around pierced and finely engraved brass with heavy
silver and copper inlay in Arabesque motif and Cartouches with writing
in Arabic script.

(122cm).
Condition: overall
excellent condition, Glass oil bulbs are missing, 5 western electrical
sockets with electrical wiring were added at some point in the mid 20th
Century to the inside for ilumination.
